ENU Launches the «SDG Hour» Initiative

As part of supporting sustainable development initiatives, our university has launched a new column called the "SDG Hour" – a platform for discussing key topics related to integrating sustainable development principles into the educational process.

The first event focused on the topic "Discussion of the Sustainable Development Module," featuring a presentation by Rumiyа Tazitdinova, Head of the Department of Environmental Protection Management and Engineering. In her presentation, she provided a detailed overview of the goals, objectives, and structure of the new module, as well as its significance in fostering a conscious approach to ecological and social aspects of life.

The presentation covered the following disciplines:

sustainable accessible technologies and their environmental impact,

resource and waste management,

socio-ecological aspects of sustainable development.

The event was attended by the Vice-Rector for Strategic Development and Internationalization, department heads, and representatives from various departments.

Participants actively discussed approaches to implementing the module, suggesting that its content be divided by specialty. It was decided to develop both a general block covering the key aspects of sustainable development and specialized modules tailored for each educational program.

The discussion took place in an atmosphere of engagement and constructive dialogue. These ideas will become an important step toward integrating sustainable development principles into the university's educational environment.

Stay tuned for updates on the «SDG Hour» column to keep up with all initiatives aimed at developing our university and society as a whole!
