GOAL

To improve irrigation management in the Shahrinav district of Tajikistan using an innovative geographic information system (GIS) platform to support water supply planning and water billing.

OBJECTIVES  

  • To create inventory of irrigation network infrastructure and determine water user boundaries using GIS. 

  • To develop electronic monitoring of water supply and distribution and to test the system on at least 100 farms. 

  • To develop a water billing system with a user geoportal that enables e-payment.
