Meeting of Members of the Network of Academic Societies Professional Practitioner Platform – Strengthening Networking of the Academic Societies

Principles of Integrated Water Resource Management and the "Water-Energy-Food-Ecosystem" Nexus approaches have proven effective in many countries for enhancing comprehensive and sustainable water planning and management. To this end, the USAID Regional Water and Vulnerable Environment activity developed training courses for master students on IWRM and WEFE Nexus. During the meeting of the Network, the possibilities of their implementation in higher educational institutions of Central Asian countries will be discussed.

Also academics and scientists endorsed the idea of developing a Community of Practice to serve as a communication and outreach platform for bringing together scientists, policymakers, and other stakeholders. At today’s NAS meeting, participants will be introduced to the platform and its features, which will enable improved communications and knowledge exchange to support higher education and professional development among the NAS members in all Central Asian countries.

The event was organized by the USAID Regional Water and Vulnerable Environment Activity in cooperation with the Central Asian Regional Environmental Center (CAREC) within the framework of the SDC Blue Peace project in Central Asia and the European Union funded project, "Central Asia Nexus Dialogue Project: Fostering Water, Energy and Food Security Nexus and Multi-Sector Investment (Phase II)".
