Training on organizational capacity building for the small basin council of the Murgab River

In Turkmenistan, the USAID Regional Water and Vulnerable Environment Activity is working to increase the skills and management abilities of the Murgab Small Basin Council (SBC) for more effective water use and management in that area. With that purpose, on December 16, the Activity held a training for the representatives of the State Committee of Water Management of Turkmenistan and members of the SBC Murghab River to discuss legislative changes regarding water use and how to ensure financial sustainability of SBC operations. Trainings such as these empower these groups to become more effective stewards for water security for improved livelihoods.
