About the Project

The project “Enhancing Economic Independence and Improving the Status of Women in Rural Areas of Central Asia through Access to Irrigation Water and Infrastructure” aims to create sustainable changes in the lives of women in Central Asia by providing them access to essential resources and infrastructure to strengthen their economic independence, increase agricultural productivity, and promote gender equality.

The project is implemented through three components:

    •    Component 1: Increase agricultural productivity through the demonstration of new water-saving technologies.

    •    Component 2: Expand women’s economic opportunities through the adoption of efficient methods in production and supply chains.

    •    Component 3: Strengthen the institutional capacity of agricultural water supply organizations and WUAs (Water Users’ Associations).

Minimum Organizational Requirements

Education:

  • Higher education in agriculture, water management, or related fields.

Technical and Functional Experience:

  • Degree in agriculture, preferably in hydraulic engineering.

  • At least 5 years of experience implementing demonstration programs in agriculture and irrigation.

  • At least 5 years of experience providing consulting services, training local communities with consideration of gender and social inclusion, and experience collaborating with government bodies and international organizations.

  • Knowledge and experience in using water-saving technologies and field-level irrigation practices.

  • Certificate of individual entrepreneur registration (attach a copy).

  • Evidence of at least one successful demonstration plot project in Kyrgyzstan (attach supporting document).

  • Experience working with CAREC is an advantage.

Languages:

  • Fluency in written and spoken Russian is required; knowledge of English is an advantage.

Reporting and Interim Deliverables:

  • All reports and related documents must be prepared in Russian and English and submitted in electronic format.
