OSCE Announces a Call for International Consultants on Renewable Energy and Education in Central Asia

The Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE) has announced the formation of an expert roster for the position of International Consultant on Renewable Energy and Education in the countries of Central Asia.

Experts’ work will focus on two main directions:

Workstream 1: Needs Assessment and Mapping — identifying gaps and priorities in the training of technical specialists in the field of renewable energy, as well as analyzing existing educational programs, courses, and infrastructure in the region’s countries.

Workstream 2: Development and Piloting of an Educational Course — one of the key components of the RTEET initiative (Regional Working Group on Education for a Just and Inclusive Energy Transition), which is implemented with the support of the Regional Environmental Centre for Central Asia (CAREC). The goal of this workstream is to develop a modern educational course on renewable energy for students of technical specialties, including the preparation of course content, methodological recommendations, and planning for its integration into universities in Central Asia. This direction plays a central role in building a sustainable and qualified workforce to support the region’s green energy transition.

Consultants' responsibilities:

1)    Development and adaptation of educational materials and courses on renewable energy;

2)    Participation in the needs assessment and preparation of related recommendations;

3)    Contribution to the implementation of one or both workstreams (Workstreams 1 and 2);

4)    Support for activities and engagement with key RTEET stakeholders;

5)    Promotion of gender equality and inclusive approaches in education programs.


Requirements:

1)    Higher education and experience in the field of renewable energy, technical education, sustainable development, or related areas;

2)    Knowledge of the regional context of Central Asian countries is an asset;

3)    Fluency in English (required); knowledge of Russian and/or national languages of the region is an advantage;

4)    Ability to work across sectors and in an international environment.

·       Consultancy-based participation (upon request within the project framework);

·       Possibility of remote work and/or participation in regional events;
