The celebration was organized by the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) in partnership with the Akimat of Kyzylorda Region and the Aral-Syr Darya Basin Inspectorate of the Committee on Water Resources. Under the theme “Syr Darya – River of Friendship,” the events helped raise awareness of the water and climate challenges facing the region and emphasized the importance of joint action to ensure the future economic prosperity and water security of Central Asia.

As part of the celebration, awards were presented to the winners of youth drawing competitions to highlight the important role of the younger generation in the future of water resources management.
