In today’s evolving society, the role of the academic community goes beyond the development and preservation of fundamental science to include the active understanding, dissemination, and practical application of new knowledge. At the same time, the work of educators is not limited to training future professional, technical, and social specialists, but also includes participation in the creation and implementation of innovative projects.
In response to the evolving needs of the academic community, there is a need to formalize the Academic Community Network to ensure its operational efficiency and sustainability. This, in turn, will stimulate the functioning of a sustainable platform and establish a Community of Practice, thereby creating a communication system to support higher and continuing professional education.
The meeting was organized by the USAID Regional Water and Environment Project in collaboration with the Regional Environmental Center for Central Asia (CAREC) under the SDC Blue Peace Project in Central Asia and the European Union project “Central Asian Dialogue to Promote Intersectoral Finance Based on the Water-Energy-Food Nexus (WEF) – Phase II.”
The meeting aimed to:
i) Share results and plans for the development of joint activities
ii) Discuss support needs and next steps within the Academic Community Network.
