During the twentieth lecture, a representative from Qazaq Carbon will present the specifics of the carbon certification model and the Aral Saxaul Project (ERAS-I Oasis Project), which is currently being developed with the participation of Kazakh and international experts.

The lecture and discussion will cover the following key topics:

• Features of carbon certification – a market-based mechanism to address environmental and climate challenges: market participants, structure, and workflow.

• Carbon intervention models in the Aral Saxaul Project (ERAS-I Oasis Project):

  • Carbon model for afforestation in desert and semi-desert regions.

  • Soil restoration model for pastures and abandoned arid lands.

  • Carbon certification for regenerative agriculture, methods to increase carbon sequestration on farmland.

• The 6-step carbon certification process, including a specialized algorithm for certifying carbon projects.
