On December 5, 2023, a side event on “Investment Opportunities in Nexus Projects to Expand Transboundary Cooperation in Central Asia” will be held at the Central Asia Pavilion during the 28th Conference of the Parties (COP-28) to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC).
The side event is organized by the Regional Environmental Centre for Central Asia (CAREC) under the “Blue Peace Central Asia” initiative, funded by the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC).
The session is expected to explore different perspectives on opportunities for Central Asian countries to implement multilateral basin programs, as well as potential strategies for attracting and effectively managing the necessary investments within transboundary basins.
Participants will include COP-28 attendees, representatives of the Executive Committee of the International Fund for Saving the Aral Sea (EC IFAS), government authorities from Central Asian countries, development organizations, international financial institutions, analytical agencies, and others.
